When people want to start a company probably they will be looking for open source alternatives to reduce monthly costs.
In this case, I use Atlassian confluence a lot at work, and I was looking for an alternative with the ability to create workspaces, collaborative documents, and get everything organized and documented for my personal projects.
Bookstack is the best options I found on the web, there are several alternatives but Bookstack covers everythings I need in order to replace Confluence.
Manage your own users, customize permissions, create workspaces (here called Books), share documents with your people, you have a WYSIWYG editor, document revisions, and the most important piece... is open source and you can deploy it in your own server easily.
I recommend reading my previous document about docker if you are not familiar with it yet, Docker would make it even easier to install and deploy into your server. Follow the link below where you can find all the information you need and specially the docker compose file, https://github.com/solidnerd/docker-bookstack
Something that is not documented at the moment is the APP_URL configuration you can add to the docker-compose environment variables, it would let you set a custom url used for redirect links, this way there's not need to modify the docker container.
